Dear Wilson Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Woodrow Wilson Elementary! I hope you and your family enjoyed a relaxing and memorable summer break. As we prepare to blast off into a new year, I am thrilled to welcome back our returning Wildcat families and extend a warm welcome to those joining our stellar community for the first time. We are excited to begin another amazing year of learning, growth, and discovery together.
This year, our school theme is Space Exploration! Together, we will Launch Our Learning through curiosity and engaging instruction, Orbit with Kindness by fostering compassion and positive relationships, and Show Interstellar Integrity by demonstrating honesty, responsibility, and strong character every day. When we work together, there are no limits to what our Wildcats can achieve as we reach for the stars!
At Woodrow Wilson Elementary, our staff works collaboratively as a Professional Learning Community committed to providing high-quality instruction and ensuring every Wildcat is challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. We believe in educating the whole child by combining rigorous academics with intentional social-emotional learning (SEL), helping students develop positive relationships, self-awareness, responsibility, empathy, resilience, and confidence. By creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment, we empower our students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Student success is a partnership between school and home. Families play an important role by supporting regular attendance, encouraging completion of learning tasks, and maintaining open communication with teachers. We also encourage you to review the Wilson Family Handbook with your child to help them understand their responsibilities as a Wilson Wildcat and start the year successfully.
Please join us for Back-to-School Night on Thursday, July 30, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. Families will have the opportunity to meet teachers, learn about classroom expectations, and hear how we will partner together for a successful school year. We will also hold our Annual Title I Meeting to share how Title I resources support student learning and student success.
Our campus continues to undergo exciting improvements as we create safe, modern, and engaging learning spaces for our students. This summer’s projects include new windows, a fully remodeled kitchen, accessibility upgrades, roof improvements, and continued construction of our new TK/Kindergarten building. We appreciate your patience and support as these important improvements are completed.
At Wilson, we believe strong family partnerships make a lasting difference. We invite families to get involved through the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), School Site Council (SSC), volunteer opportunities, and school events throughout the year. Together, we can provide the very best educational experience for every Wildcat.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are honored to work alongside you as we inspire a love of learning, build meaningful relationships, and help every Wildcat reach for the stars. We are ready for an incredible year ahead!
